After massage and chiropractic treatments failed to completely relieve back pain, I tried acupuncture with Ed Hubbell in 2012.  Since then my mother, father, and multiple other family members have become clients; all had outstanding outcomes.  Mom and I started to go together. She’d get a treatment on her knee pain and swelling, and I like to focus on my back and legs.  My mother, Janis, is in the moderate/severe stage of frontal temporal lobe dementia.  She requires 24 hour care, and assistance with most daily tasks.  Her symptoms include: aphasia, incontinence, decreased cognitive functioning and decreased motor skills.  She has seen a Neurologist since 2013 and was prescribed Namenda. Unfortunately, with any progressive degenerative disease, those caring for her have seen a continued decline over time. Mom was more quiet and withdrawn than usual, so I mentioned this to Ed at one of our visits. Since that day, Ed has become an integral part of Janis Beck’s medical team.

Janis has experienced significant improvement in multiple areas through regular neuro-acupuncture treatments with Ed.  Her improvement was not overnight, but gradually she started to make some progress. She has received weekly neuro-acupuncture treatments since July, 2017. Her mobility and stability has improved.  She pivots again, which makes turning to sit down on things much easier. She actively participates in standing up and is more stable once up and walking.  She is more stable in the shower and will actually hold on to the safety rail.  She brushes her teeth again, with assistance of course, but this was something we were really struggling with.  The other day she hung up her own towel. Janis is more engaged in what is going on around her and willingly participates is activities.  She is more affectionate and considerate.  Her speech has definitely improved; this was commented on by a family member, who is a speech pathologist. She thanked me for dinner the other night and said it looked delicious! She still has her struggles, but her quality of life has improved tremendously.

Ed is intuitive, professional, extremely knowledgeable, and very dedicated to his clients.  One occasion, when I couldn’t get Janis to Ed’s office, he came to our home. We have not had a bad day in a very long time.  Ed constantly seeks input and feedback.  He really asks and listens to what is going on, good and bad.  He has tailored a treatment plan conducive to Janis’s needs.  Ed earned my mother’s trust, she allows him to insert needles into her scalp without a peep.  She’s even said it makes her feel relaxed. Over the years I have known Ed I have seen a dedication to his clients and profession that is uncommon in any field.  He makes a point to study new aspects of care and further his knowledge with learned professionals in order to provide the best care for his patients.  He was excited to apply the new techniques he recently learned at a 2 week neuro-acupuncture workshop in New Mexico. Janis is the lucky recipient.  It is with full confidence that I recommend Ed Hubbell.
